Instructions

  1. This application is used to obtain a short term rental (STR) permit for a single property pursuant to Town of Austerlitz Zoning Code §195-23. If you are applying for more than one property, please submit a separate application form for each property.
  2. The Building Department shall not consider any STR application unless the following are submitted:
    • This application form, which must be completed in full, either typed or printed clearly in ink.
    • An application fee in an amount contained in a fee schedule as may be established by resolution of the Town Board. The fee must be paid by check or money order only and made payable to the Town of Austerlitz. All fees are non-refundable.
    • If not already on file with the Town, a floor plan showing the interior of the building to be rented as a STR.
    • At least one photograph of the primary dwelling and/or the accessory dwelling unit to be rented as an STR.
    • A copy of the most recent Town of Austerlitz property tax bill receipt or other proof of payment of last tax bill.
    • A copy of the current certificate of insurance for the property.
    • If not already on file with the Town, a copy of the septic system certification or approval for the property.
    • If more than one individual owns the property, all of those owners must sign this application. If the owner of a parcel is not an individual but a legal entity (such as a corporation, a limited liability company, a trust, or other legal entity), written proof of authority from that entity to the signatory must be provided as part of the application and all members/beneficiaries of the entity must be identified.
